Your location data is used exclusively for triggering alarms when you approach your chosen destination. We never retain location history or share it with
third parties.
What Data We Collect:
Location Data
- Your current GPS coordinates to monitor the distance from your destination
- Destination coordinates and addresses you select
- Real-time location updates while an alarm is active
Alarm Information
- Destination names and addresses
- Distance threshold settings (1km or 2km)
- Alarm state and countdown timers
Shared Location Data
- When you share a location from Apple Maps or Google Maps, we temporarily process the location name, address, and coordinates
How We Use Your Data
All data processing happens locally on your device:
- Calculate the distance between your current location and the destination
- Trigger alarms when you enter the geofence radius
- Display your location and destination on the map
- Show countdown timers in the Dynamic Island
- Save alarm preferences between app launches
We do NOT:
- Send your location to our servers
- Track your movements or create location history
- Share your data with advertisers or data brokers
- Sell or monetize your personal information
Data Storage & Retention
Everything is stored locally on your device using iOS standard storage (UserDefaults):
- Active alarm information is saved to persist across app restarts
- Alarm data is automatically deleted when you dismiss the alarm
- Shared location data from Maps is cleared after being processed
- No historical data, logs, or backups are kept
We have no servers and no databases. When you delete the app, all data is permanently removed from your device.
Third-Party Services:
When you share a location from Google Maps, we make a single API call to Google Places to retrieve the full location details (name, address, coordinates). This is a one-time lookup that happens only when you use the share extension.
- Google's privacy policy applies to this API call
- We do not track or log these requests
- Location information is used only to set up your alarm
No Other Third-Party Services
Unlike many apps, Mokugo does NOT use:
- Analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.)
- Crash reporting services (Crashlytics, Sentry, Bugsnag)
- Advertising networks (AdMob, AppLovin, etc.)
- Push notification services (OneSignal, Firebase)
- Attribution tracking (AppsFlyer, Adjust, etc.)
Permissions We Request:
Location Access ("Always Allow")
Required for background monitoring so we can trigger your alarm even when the app is closed. You can change this to "While Using the App" in iOS
Settings, but background alarms won't work.
Notifications
Required to show alarm alerts and countdown timers in the Dynamic Island. You can manage notification settings in iOS Settings.
Your Rights & Control
You have complete control over your data:
- Enable or disable location services anytime in iOS Settings
- Turn off notifications in iOS Settings
- Cancel alarms to immediately clear alarm data
- Delete the app to remove all data from your device

Children's Privacy
Mokugo does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app does not require age verification, user accounts, or personal information. If you
believe a child has used this app, please contact us.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy to reflect changes in the app or legal requirements. The "Last Updated" date below will be revised accordingly.
Continued use of Mokugo after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
